It is no surprise that there are so many people looking for information on how to make money online. The economy stinks and a lot of people are unemployed, yet still have bills to pay and families to take care of. I believe there are many people that know something legitimate is out there, but they have yet to discover it. It is true; you can find tons of scams where greedy people are looking to suck you dry and take away what little you may have left. What you need to know is that there are real opportunities that can teach you how to make money online, and most are little to no cost at all. If you research thoroughly, you will see that you can find a great deal of information on your own without having to go broke just trying to figure out what you are capable of doing. There are two main ways that will help you learn how to make money online: affiliate marketing and freelancing.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing has quickly become something of a chosen method on how to make money online. Affiliate marketing is kind of like a sales job, but it is usually completely web based. You simply find products that you would like to promote and sign up with the companies as an affiliate. You are given special tools, like banner ads and custom affiliate links, that can help you market your product efficiently. To make money online with affiliate marketing, you will need a blog and/or a website minimally. There are many hosting sites that offer both of these services for free if you look in the right places.

When you are using a blog or website to make money online with affiliate marketing, it is important to understand the basics of what will make your efforts successful. The first thing is that you should keep the similar or related affiliate products grouped together on one specific site. Your next crucial element to make money online with affiliate marketing is to make sure that you are adding keyword rich content on a daily basis. This ensures that the search engines are picking up your site, and that you are getting the maximum amount of visitors, which converts into potential sales levels.

Freelancing

Let’s say that you have a specific knowledge and experience for something that you can offer for other people’s benefit, and your pay. To make money online with freelancing, you need to research the different areas of freelancing and figure out what it is that you know how to do. Generally, you can find freelance customer service, administrative, website design and website content positions that businesses are looking for. If you have the skill sets that are needed for one of these areas, you can make money online.

To make money online through freelancing, you will need to locate the projects that you will be working on. This is best accomplished, at least while you are still learning, through the use of job posting sites and databases. These websites will give you the opportunity to make money online by signing up with them, bidding or applying for projects and then charging a percentage of your earnings. Most sites charge the fee to the client that has posted the project, but there are a few that require a membership fee to join and bid.

3 Tips to Increase Blog Traffic

Blogging is the most effective technique in affiliate marketing. There are many hosting sites that provide people with access to free blogs to use for almost any purpose, so it is only natural for them to be included in the many tools that affiliate marketers use in their efforts. For those that are just starting out, you need information on how to increase blog traffic, which ultimately increases your sales and income.

1. Your Content

One of the most important ways to increase blog traffic is through the content that you provide on your blog. The content that you provide should be rich in highly popular keywords and keyword phrases, but these keywords cannot just be anything you think of. They have to be directly related to the theme of your blog and the products that you are trying to market. For example, you would not choose a keyword phrase like “anxiety disorder” for products related to computers.

For content, it should be original. Part of the effort to increase blog traffic is done through pinging your blog. What this means is that your blog can be marked through pinging to draw the attention of search engines. The search engines can then drop by whenever they take a notion to and create a cache or index of your content.  The indexes are then used to rate your blog site and put you in the ranks accordingly. The most coveted spots are on the first page, since people generally use the results on the first page to find what they are looking for. This will also increase blog traffic.

2.  Use Google Reader and Social Bookmarking

Google Reader allows you to increase blog traffic by signing up and sending the RSS feeds from your blog through this program. When the Reader program has these feeds, it will then index your blog, similar to pinging, which helps you in your search result’s position. Remember: higher search engine positions lead to an increase in blog traffic.

Social bookmarking is quickly becoming known for one of those must have tools that bloggers and affiliate marketers use to increase blog traffic. In similarity to pinging and Reader, you simply add your posts and other things to the social bookmarking sites. There are so many popular social bookmarking sites that you do not have to limit yourself to just the ones that you have heard of. Submitting to the popular social bookmarking sites is an easy way to increase blog traffic; these sites are specifically designed for people from all over the world to share links to sites and blogs, which gives you even more exposure.

3.  Use Other Blogs

One of the most beneficial things that bloggers can do to help each other increase blog traffic is post comments for each other. The idea is not to compete but to work together towards one common goal. You can also share page or post links on each other’s blogs, which also works doubly to increase blog traffic. The best thing to do is find other blogs that are related to yours, not with competing products, but rather with complimentary products, and contact the owner via email to make your intentions known.

Ways to make money in network marketing

All you hear in the news these days is how bad the economy is.  They talk about job losses.  They talk about home foreclosures. They keep making references to the weak dollar. For that reason a lot more people than before are going to be looking for different ways to earn extra money.

One of the methods people are taking a look at is network marketing.  In tough economies mlm companies experience a boom.  Mainly because people need extra money.  So you are going to find a lot of people looking for many different network marketing opportunities

That is why these companies will experience growth during these times.Quite a few of these people won’t just be looking for mlm opportunities.  They are going to look for the top network marketing companies.  People want to find the best companies and it makes sense. But most people don’t quite comprehend the fact that being successful in this business takes more than a good company.

They have to realize that success in mlm will be dependant upon how well they can do some mlm prospecting.  Recruiting is the lifeblood of the business.  If they cannot bring in new distributors they will not make it.  After all that is what the whole business is based upon.  Earning a residual off of your downline.

So they have to look further than just the big companies.  They have to learn how to prospect people. That is a skill that most people won’t be familiar with.If they make no effort to learn how to do it, they will soon fail.Thankfully there will be a lot of different areas that they will be able to learn this.If they make an effort to accomplish it, they can become successful.

But just as in any business, if they become lazy and don’t really work hard, they will see failure. So if your plan is to build a successful network marketing business be prepared to work. It isn’t as easy as people make it out to be.

Sir, Teach Me How To Make Money

by David Lim

I started a site about online home businesses a few years ago. The site serves as a guide to somebody looking to start a home business and I do not really sell anything on the site.

Once in a while, I will get an email that will read something like this:

“Sir, teach me how to make money.”

For the first year or so, I painstakingly crafted a few paragraphs as my reply, essentially repeating what I said on my website. I would also ask about the background of the sender, so that I may be in a position to better understand what he wants and what he can do.

Most of the time, the sender did not bother to reply. In fact, I don’t think I can remember a time in which I did get a reply. Obviously the sender was looking for a simple answer, and I didn’t provide that.

I remember an email from someone who likes my site very much, and wants to know how he can sign up. I took the trouble to tell him that my site is an informational site and that it does not have a join button.

I designed electronic circuitry and wrote software programs for a living. I studied electronics engineering for 3 years at the polytechnic to get my diploma, and it was only after about 5 to 10 years of working experience that I consider myself good enough to ask for a salary of a few thousand dollars a month.

Many sites will tell you that you can potentially make a few thousand dollars a month if you work their program. Every single time, they will also tell you that anybody can do it and no experience is needed. In fact, they will tell you that an unemployed odd job laborer made $1200 after his first month on their program, or something similar.

What can I say except, “Use your head.”

If somebody approached you on the street, and offered you $100 to deliver a parcel for him to a downtown address, would you do it? The errand would only take half an hour of your time, and he would pay you on the spot.

You will not run the errand right? You will make some kind of excuse, walk briskly away and never look back right?

You know that nobody is going to offer you $100 for a half an hour job with no strings attached. There is definitely a catch. He is hoping that greed will take over and you will accept the job.

The Internet has been called the great equalizer, or the most revolutionary development in the history of human communication, or the information superhighway. Whichever superlatives you use, the same rules regarding money still apply to the Internet. Money still has to be earned and competition for it is extremely keen. So, the sooner you get off “the roads are paved with gold” mentality, the sooner you will start putting in the time and work needed for a successful home business.

Getting paid to write can be a good way of making money on the net. There are many sites offering online earning opportunities that, as a writer, you can take advantage of. Or you can start your own site with your own articles.

Writing online content is not the same as writing in the offline world. The following is a short summary of writing in the online writing industry.

Who Can Write For Cash?

You don’t have to be an Ernest Hemingway or a T S Elliot to have somebody pay you to write online. What you do need is the ability to convey your ideas in a clear and concise fashion, and you should have good grammar and spelling as well.

On What Topics Do I Write?

The usual advice is to write about what you are familiar with and what you are passionate about. Your expertise and passion will come through and result in a well-written piece. But there will be occasions in which you will be constrained to a certain topic, but you can always choose to reject the project or look at it as a chance to learn something new.

Do I Get Paid Based On How Many Articles I Write?

Offline, you will normally get paid by the article, or by the column. There will be some cases in which you will get paid through royalties. Online, there are a lot of different ways by which you can get paid. The following are the more common ways through which you can get paid:

- By The Article Or Post. Some sites may pay you per blog post, perhaps a dollar or two per post. Some sites may pay you per article, or allow you to list your article for sale.

- By The Number Of Words In Your Article Or Post. You might be offered a fixed amount per word in your blog post or article. Rates vary, but at the moment, I would expect one to two cents per word to be fair for a start.

- By Impressions Or CPM. You publish your article on the website. You will get paid based on the number of times the articles is viewed by the site’s visitors, and by visitors from the search engines. At the moment, the rate is about $1.50 per 1000 views.

- By AdSense And Other Ads. You add your article to the site. On the same page as your article, the site will add Adsense and other ads. A certain percentage of the ads will be displayed with your affiliate or tracking code.

And In Conclusion,

The paid to write industry has evolved along with the Internet. Much of the demand comes from the SEO sector, which uses the content to get backlinks, improve page ranking, and increase traffic from long-tailed keywords. As the search engines evolve to take these SEO activities into account, it is very likely that there will be changes in the SEO sector in the near future and this will impact the paid to write industry.
