Free Keyword Software – Which One Should You Use

A quick google search for Free Keyword Software will reveal hundreds of keyword research tools.  So how do you know which one to choose?  Well, you may actually need more than one because all keyword software is not created the same.  Some Free tools generate massive keyword lists but don’t provide much keyword research capability.  Other tools provide extensive keyword research but are limited by the number of keywords per list, they will generate.  Yet still others provide a “spy” feature so that you can view your competitor’s keywords and, on some tools, the paid ads that correspond to them.  The choices and possibilities are nearly endless.

When selecting Free Keyword Software you should first decide what your overall goal for the keywords must accomplish.  If you simply want to generate massive lists of keywords then you will need a tool that provides you with the capability of harvesting hundreds of thousands of keywords.  Free Tools like Wordtracker and Traffic Travis have the capability of generating large keyword lists. If you want to “spy” on your competition and generate a list of keywords your competitors are using then you will need a keyword tool that digs into your competitors ads and keywords.  Spy tools such as PPC Web Spy, Keyword Spy and Spy Fu all have their own unique approach to revealing the keywords of your competitors.  An advantage of using spy keyword software such as this is that hopefully the competitors you choose to spy on and swipe their keywords have already done the necessary research to select the most profitable keywords.

The remaining type of keyword software you may want to consider begins to move away from the free keyword software and are paid for versions.  The paid for versions come with a host full of features…some not only generate keyword lists for you but also perform keyword analysis, competitor spying, ppc information and can group your keywords into ad groups, generate the ads and even upload them to your google account.  All this while creating and importing keyword relevant articles and associating them with an adsense and affiliate website template that can then be uploaded to your web server.  These Keyword tools do exist. However, they are not free.  Keyword Elite is one such program – it is an awesome program and worth the investment if you are building adsense or affiliate sites.  It will save you hours of research time.

A final thought is that you may want to consider downloading a couple free tools and maybe a few paid-for versions to use in combination with each other.  Most full-time Internet marketers use multiple keyword tools for their keyword research and keyword generation.

Improve the Effectiveness of Your Adsense

by Michael Fleischner

Can you make a living on earning Adsense commissions? Adsense can be a great way to a few extra dollars each and every day, but is certainly not going to make you a ton of money. Ask website owners today about their earnings and you’ll find only a small handful is making a substantial income. I have learned how to increase my Adsense commissions over time and will share with you all I have learned.

What you earn via Adsense is based on a number of factors including which ads you display and where you display them on your website or blog. Here are some key factors to consider before you place your Adsense code. The first is ad placement. Certain locations on your page tend to be more successful than others. Google has documented the ideal placement of ads based on their network of advertisers. Ads located above the fold, tend to perform better than those below the fold. Ads placed near rich content and navigational aids usually do well because users are focused on those areas of a page and take action.

What is offered by Google as ideal placement is certainly useful as a guide. However, I strongly recommend that you consider the behavior of your users first prior to deciding proper ad position. Think about user behavior on different pages of your website or blog and what will be most functional to browsers and their navigation. Find what works and apply it to appropriate web pages.

For example, on pages where users are typically focused on reading an article, ads placed directly below the end of the editorial content tend to perform very well. It’s almost as if users finish reading and ask themselves, “What can I do next?” Precisely targeted ads can answer that question for them.

Ad format. Some types of ads do better than others depending on your content and layout. In my case, large rectangles in the middle of the content are best, while leader boards do not generate as much as income. Sky scrappers are the worst performers for me, especially if they are on the right-hand side of the page. This is somewhat counter-intuitive to what I had originally thought. Experiment and measure the results via channels and see which formats work best for you.

The color of your ads. When ads blend into your content, click through rates can be improved, but sometimes ads that contrast with your web site colors work best. To improve your results, test a variety of ad colors to determine if different palettes generate better results. Short of testing the actual palettes offered by Adsense, there is really no other way to determine ad effectiveness.

Number of ad units. Websites are generally permitted to display three ads, a search box, and a set of ad links. Keep in mind that you don’t have to display all available ad units. In fact, you should focus on placing ads in a way that do not clutter your web page. Users going to your page and reading your content may respond to a single ad placement if it is in the right place on your web page.

Experiment with the factors above and see which combination works best for your particular website. Remember that not all sites do well with Adsense ads. Even if you get lots of traffic but your visitors are not interested in looking for ways to spend their money, they won’t be interested in your ads and won’t click through.

January 12, 2009 is the day when the highly anticipated niche blueprint system will be coming out on the market being the follow-up product to commission blueprint from Tim as well as Steve. The program will reveal to us all how the authors are able to make hundreds of thousands of dollars just by setting up small niche web E-commerce shopping sites. Over an eight week period from launch date commission blueprint sold over a staggering 15,000 units! This course was so excellent that everyone in the IM community was talking about it.

it’s no secret that Commission blueprint has made a large number of success stories and as a result the interest for the new niche blueprint launch progresses each and every day.

The core elements of the main part of the program consist of 23 videos and 26 manuals put together from the experience of both Tim and Steven, the main authors, and additional input from Ecommerce experts David and Michael Hermansen. If the quality of this upcoming product is anywhere near as positive as commission blueprint, I dare say this time next year there will be a fair amount of people with their own successful web e commerce businesses on the net.

There is no selling of e-books, software programs or promoting affiliate products, although you could if you want to. So in the type of niches that the program teaches you to target there is hardly any competition the majority of the time. Taking into account what I have seen until now, I would say this course removes all of the major obstacles faced by anyone starting out with web E-commerce.

From what I can see this product is close to remove all major problems for someone trying to get started in web E-commerce. When it comes to the nicheblueprint at the moment I would have to say that I have yet to see anything which could even come slightly close to this course.

You know, someone is successful when they are featured on the New York Times and Fox News and that’s exactly, what has happened with Tim and Steve as well. Even better is the fact that most of the success has come from very uncompetitive niches like for instance “train horns”. Another thing that I like about these two is the fact that they show rigorous proof of their income unlike many other marketers who will simply tell you what they have made. In the course they will even show you an example of a really simple website that anybody could have made (at least with their new platform) and that was incredibly  sold for $173,000 not so long ago. I predict that their upcoming niche blueprint program is going to sell just as great or better than their previous commission blueprint program and that as a result many, many more newbies to the Internet will be very successful in and beyond the coming year.

As you know promoting your website to a targeted audience will generate revenue and build a brand which is the task of every Internet entrepreneur. Don’t forget, there is no easy way out. Looking for quick fixes might get you in trouble, or you might fall victim to scammers. The good news is, you can realistically gain some gradual site exposure and one of the good ways is to blog, it will definitely expand your Internet entrepreneur profile.

Blogging is not a new concept, an online personal diary that you can update. It’s common for many top businesses to have their own blog to keep subscribers updated to their latest happenings and also keeping them interested in their company by adding some personal touches to attract more subscribers. This might be a good path to follow.

When starting a blog, make sure you choose a good blogging service with a high PR ranking so your blogs get indexed well. Two good blogs to start with are Blogger and Wordpress. It is also recommended to get your own domain and forward it to your blog so the blog looks more personalized. For the best personalization down to the templates, you should consider purchasing your own web hosting and install a blog engine so you have full customization. No matter what choice you make, properly set up the blog and make sure your title has keywords that pertain to the site you want to promote.

The About page on your blog is where the reader can click to make a contact or to find more information about you. Fill that up first, it’s a quick and easy process. Add whatever detail you like to add. Since it’s all about trust building, you can even put a link to your social networking site if you have one to show you are real.

Once done, you are finally ready to start your first entry. Your first entry should be an introductory blog that introduces yourself as an Internet entrepreneur and a link to your website that you are promoting. It is important to repeat keyword phrases 2-3 times so your entry gets caught by the search engines and allows other people to find it easily.

When submitting your entry, make sure you have comments enabled so other people can voice out and ask any questions if needed. Comments also add legitimacy and extra search engine power to the blog so try to encourage your friends and acquaintances to comment on the first entry and future entries. You can also support them by adding links to their blogs, so they can do the same so traffic is exchanged.

Don’t forget to update your blog every now and then to show that you are active and add links to your site at the end of each entry. This should allow people to visit your site regardless what entry they are reading.

Blogging is all about updating and keeping the link active. This way, you can market your blog to gain subscribers and acquire traffic for your website all at once.

Article marketing is pretty popular these days. The concept of article marketing has been around for a couple of years but is finally main stream. This is because it happens to be one of the best methods for developing in bound links to your website and improving search engine rankings.

If you have yet to jump on the article marketing bandwagon, then I suggest that you get started right away. Article marketing is here to stay. So you do not have to be all that concerned that others are using article marketing as well. In fact, article marketing works no matter how many people use it.

Article marketing is effective because you search engines love quality content. Moreover, you are producing content that will be ranked by search engines and including a link back to your website. Content focused around specific keywords is identified by search engines to display when users search on a particular niche or topic of interest. When your article includes links back to your website, you pass value back to your site.

When you distribute your article to article websites or blogs your article content, your content gets additional exposure. Over time, a Google PR is assigned to the page that your article is on, and if you have links to your website, the page rank is transferred resulting in a boost to your search engine rankings.

A common mistake that is made all too often is when individuals forget to include a link back to their website or worse yet place their link in the wrong way. The best way to develop in bound links is by using keyword rich links. This means your, usually within the about the author section, is displayed with your keyword not the usual worldwide web designation.

If not sure about the best method to produce a keyword rich link, search Google for a tutorial or simply the html code you need to produce a link in the right way. There are many websites that can provide instructions for creating links that display your keywords in the link text. This is essential if you are going to get the full value of article marketing.

Once you have written your article and included keyword rich links, the next step is to distribute them. Find article directories that have a high Google PR. The value you receive is not just the promise of potential distribution, but the Google PR the website can transfer to your own site.

Many online article websites are not that good at distributing content. To distribute your articles you would have to use a software package or an online distribution service. Therefore, you want to focus on article directories that can provide value in terms of the page rank they pass through to your links. Focus your efforts on the top article directories to put your article marketing in overdrive.

Create articles in your niche and structure them correctly. Your links in the author box or included in the article must use your keywords in the anchor text. Test all of your links to make sure, they work properly. Once you have validated that everything is working properly, distribute your articles to the top article directories.
